FAQ
What is the difference between ALR and ELR retractor in a seatbelt?
The Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) seatbelt mechanism has both acceleration and tilt locking mechanisms. This means that the installation angle of the retractor is important as it locks when it tilts a certain degree from its intended position.
The Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR) locks automatically when the seatbelt is pulled out about 40 cm. This mechanism ensures that the seatbelt stays securely in place once it has been pulled out far enough.
