The safety retractor acts in principle the same way as a safety belt. Its webbing is fastened with a spring-loadedaxle. A user of the safety retractor can move freely in a distance of 2,5mfrom the safety retractor. If the user falls down, the brake of the safety retractor locks and the fall stops immediately.

The working height must be at least3,4 m. (Stop distance0,9m + required free space 2,5m).
